The ridiculously scary side of life will be aboard the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad this Saturday, Oct. 26, for “A Train Ride with the Addams Family.” The special event is planned in partnership with the Community Players of Greene County.
The Addams Family, remembered by the “older” set as a sitcom in the 1960s, and now by children in an animated movie, will be on the train courtesy of a troupe of Greene County residents brought together by Tim Pound. Pound is waiting for the Christmas season, as his specialty on the B&SVR is Mr. Claus.
Addams family members won’t have a script, but will do improv based on the original sitcom. Portraying family members will be Larry Dowd and Gina Harrington as Gomez and Morticia, Josie Weaver and Brian Hardaway as their children Wednesday and Pugsley, Tim Fester as Uncle Fester, John Schoening as Lurch, Judy Mohler as Grandma, Sheilah Pound as Cousin It, and Marianne Carlson as a witch.
The 90-minute train ride promises laughs and possibly a few screams, as well. The ride is not recommended for children.
“A Train Ride with the Addams Family” will leave the B&SVR station in at 6 pm. Tickets are $20 each and are available at www.bsvrr.com or by calling 800-626-0319.
